Frequently asked questions

What is your approach?

Our time will be spent exploring your thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and emotions, as they relate to your experiences. I use somatic (body focussed), emotional, and cognitive approaches to provide a well rounded and dynamic space for each individual. With you as the guide, I will help you gain a deeper understanding of what is present in your life.

Who is this space for?

This space is welcome to people of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. This is a non-judgemental space for individuals to bring their whole selves.

In wanting to create safe spaces, I recognize the responsibility of continually educating myself on the topics of equity, diversity, and inclusion so that you can have peace of mind.

What does our first session look like?

In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your goals in a relaxed and open space to help you feel comfortable. After this initial session, we’ll discuss a potential path forward, including session frequency and what you hope to achieve.

What if I can't afford your session cost?

I understand that financial accessibility is important for mental wellness. I offer a number of sliding scale spots on a case by case basis. Please inquire about availability during our initial consultation.

Does insurance cover these sessions?

I do not interact with insurance providers directly. I require payment for a session before the session takes place. After receiving payment I provide a receipt for you to submit to your specific insurance provider.

What is your cancellation policy?

I reserve a specific time slot for your session, and require 48hrs notice for cancelation/rescheduling so that I can best serve all of my clients' busy schedules. If cancelations occur within the 48hr window, the missed or canceled session is charged at full rate.

How does confidentiality work?

I adhere to the ACCT ethical standard of practice. All subject matter covered in counselling is confidential between you and your counsellor with the following exceptions: the mandatory reporting of child or vulnerable adult abuse/neglect, the reporting of imminent harm to self or other, or when ordered by a court of law.
